Hi everyone,
To help ensure I can sustainably keep creating free learning materials and guides, I’m making a small change: moving all posts containing educational resources to “subscription only.”
Important notes:
- Subscribing is completely free and takes seconds.
- I remain committed to free access. I am not introducing paid premium content so long it remains financially sustainable.
- This includes popular guides like:
- Understanding Climate Change: Resources for Education
- IPCC AR6 Reports: Teachers’ Guides (WG1 & WG2)
- How to Use Carbon Brief’s Attribution Interactive (Parts 1 & 2)
- Teaching Climate Change with GIS
- Decolonising Geography
- …and others listed below.
- Be the first to know about special announcements such as new resources or CPD opportunities.

Why this change?
Right from the out-set, I’ve offered all my resources purely on a donation-basis. While deeply appreciated, donations typically amount to just tens of pounds per year (a hundred if I’m lucky). Moving to a free subscription model helps me understand my audience better and hopefully creates a clearer pathway for those who are able to contribute occasionally, ensuring I can continue producing high-quality materials.
Simply subscribe for free to continue accessing all guides and resources! Existing free posts remain freely accessible.
Thank you for your understanding and support. I’m grateful you’re here.
Examples of resources moving to free-subscriber access:
- Understanding Climate Change: Resources for Education (2025 Update)
- How to Use Carbon Brief’s Attribution Interactive Part 1 & 2
- IPCC AR6 WG1 & WG2: Teachers’ Guides
- Teaching climate change issues using GIS
- Decolonising Geography
- Qatar 2022: Controversial geographies and data
- Bonus Resources for Nat Geo Kids ‘Everything: Sustainable Energy’
- History of Earth (geological time) on a 30cm ruler
- …and other resource/guide posts.
With thanks,
Kit Marie
