🆕📽️🌍🗣️ Earlier this month I was delighted to take part in the UKEdChat Online Conference 2020. This vlog offers a recording and summary of my contribution, covering some ideas how we teachers can aid learning through fact checking, fake news and cognitive bias. Day two of @The_GA's #GAeConf20 - Not only do I share-on amazing practice and ideas from the #geographyteacher community, but also reflect on how vital such engagements are, especially in times like these.
Without delving too much into politics, it is of this geographer's opinion that current affairs demonstrate how crucial the current need is for critical thinking. This blog entry looks into the importance of thinking critically, a tool to help fight 'fake news', and some resources to demonstrate that teaching skills (like critical thinking) can happen in tandem with teaching content.
